Pinatas are a Mexican party tradition. Made from papier-mache and decorated in bright colours with sweets inside.
A piƱata is suspended from a string and the children (and adults) take turns hitting it, usually blindfolded, with a stick. Eventually it will break and all the goodies will bust out and onto the ground. Everybody then scrambles in a mad rush to collect the treats. This is a great game for any party and lots of fun.
